Hi there! I'm Laura

I grew up making things. Long before I knew the word "resilience," I was sitting with projects that weren't going right, unravelling, rethinking, starting over, and learning, without realising it, that I could figure things out. That quiet confidence didn't come from school or grades. It came from my hands.

I became an engineer, but craft was never something I left behind and came back to. It was always there, running alongside everything else. Two different ways of solving problems, two different ways of thinking, side by side my whole life.

When I moved to the Netherlands, I started Happy Moment. What began as craft workshops and Jewish holiday activity kits for the Israeli community grew into something bigger: a creative home for anyone far from home. A place where expats can learn a new skill, make something real with their hands, and carve out a little time just for themselves.

Today, Happy Moment is a studio for craft workshops, birthday parties, handmade gifts, and Made of This, a programme for teenage girls. But the heart of it is the same thing it's always been: the belief that making something with your hands can quietly change how you see yourself.

If you have an idea for a workshop, a party, or something you've always wanted to make, I'd love to hear it. Get in touch and let's turn it into something real.

Cheers!
Laura
